The Salvation Army of Brown County offers a safe place to be a kid
For Matt, every day after school meant a lot of time at home feeling lonely, hungry, and bored. He often did not feel like anyone was looking out for him. One day, a friend invited Matt to join him at The Salvation Army of Brown County after school, where they had food, games, and people who actually cared.
After the first night, Matt knew he had found a place that felt safe. No one judged him, people cared for him, and he received a hot meal. He came back every week. Matt said that over time, the Salvation Army became “My place. A place where I could laugh, play games, and just be a kid. A place where adults cared about my future and encouraged me to make good choices.”
At The Salvation Army, Matt learned about God and how much he was loved and cared for. He learned that God had a plan for his life.
At The Salvation Army, Matt’s life was changed; he found a place to belong, have hope, and grow his relationship with Jesus.
