The Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL) is teaming up with The Salvation Army

CLEVELAND, OH (July 22, 2025) — The Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL) is teaming up with The Salvation Army in Greater Cleveland to host a free pet vaccine and microchip clinic on Saturday, July 26th, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at The Salvation Army in East Cleveland Corps Community Center located at 1507 Doan Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44112.
 
“We are blessed to continue to host these valuable clinics as a service to our local friends and neighbors who have dogs and cats in need. Our belief at The Salvation Army is to provide holistic, wraparound services to the communities we serve, and this includes their pets,” stated Captain Travis Barton, Commanding Corps Officer, The Salvation Army in East Cleveland Corps Community Center.
 
This event is also made possible thanks to vaccines donated by Merck and microchips provided by Cleveland Animal Care and Control. The clinic will serve pets between 6 weeks and 6 years old, as these pets are at the highest risk and most in need of preventative care.

Vaccines Available (while supplies last):

  • For Dogs: Distemper/Parvo Combo, Rabies
  • For Cats: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia Combo, Rabies
  • Available for both dogs and cats: Microchipping

 
Important Details:

  • Open to Cleveland and East Cleveland residents only
  • Limited to the first 100 pets
  • Pets must be between 6 weeks to 6 years old
  • Dogs must be leashed; cats must be in carriers
  • First-come, first-served – early arrival recommended

“This is a much-needed opportunity for families to safeguard their pets and stop preventable illness from spreading in our community,” said Sharon Harvey, President and CEO of the Cleveland APL. “We deeply appreciate our partners at The Salvation Army for helping us to make this life-saving service a reality.”
