Trade Screens for Sunscreen at Camp this Summer

Every summer, something special happens on O'ahu's North Shore. Kids who've never been away from home find their footing. Friendships form around campfires. A keiki who's never touched an instrument picks one up and doesn't want to put it down.

That's Camp Homelani — and registration for summer 2026 is now open.

"Camp Homelani has been a special place for generations of Hawai'i's youth to step outside their everyday routines, enjoy the beachfront setting, grow in confidence and strengthen their faith. We're excited to welcome a new group of campers this summer."

— Captain David Aycock, Divisional Director of Youth Services, The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division

79 Years of "Heavenly Home"

The name says it all. Homelani means "Heavenly Home," and for 79 years that's exactly what this place has been for Hawai'i's keiki and teens. Nine beachfront acres in Waialua, tucked along the quiet North Shore — the kind of setting that makes the rest of the world feel very far away.

Campers ages 7 through 17 spend their days swimming, playing team sports, making art, singing around campfires, performing skits, and starting each morning with devotions. The staff are dedicated Christians who create a safe, welcoming space for kids of all backgrounds to grow — spiritually, socially, and emotionally.

What's on This Summer

This year's lineup has something for every kid. Discovery Camp runs three weeks and is open to ages 7–12. Music Camp — where campers pick up an instrument they've likely never played before — runs for two weeks. And Teen Camp wraps up the season for older campers ages 13–17. The camp also has the Fox Run Ninja Course, the first outdoor Ninja-style obstacle course in Hawai'i.

  • Discovery Camp #1 — June 15–19 (ages 7–12)
  • Discovery Camp #2 — June 22–26 (ages 7–12)
  • Jr. Music Camp — June 29–July 3 (ages 7–11)
  • Sr. Music Camp — July 6–13 (ages 12–17)
  • Discovery Camp #3 — July 16–20 (ages 7–12)
  • Teen Camp — July 23–27 (ages 13–17)

Camp is $300 per week ($350 for Sr. Music Camp), with all USDA-certified meals included. Scholarships are available — more on that below.

No Keiki Left Behind

Cost shouldn't be what keeps a kid from a week at the beach learning to play ukulele or running an obstacle course. If your family needs financial support, scholarships are available — just ask.

And if you're in a position to help, the Keiki to Camp campaign makes it easy. Every dollar goes directly to camper scholarships and transportation. You can sponsor a spot for a keiki who otherwise wouldn't have one.

"Every child deserves the chance to experience camp. We never want cost to stand in the way — no keiki should miss out on this experience."

— Joleen Aycock, Divisional Youth & Candidates' Secretary, The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division

Not Just a Summer Camp

Outside of the summer season, Camp Homelani's nine beachfront acres are available for group and family rentals — corporate retreats, school outings, church gatherings. If you're looking for an inspiring North Shore venue, it's worth a look. Visit camphomelani.org to check availability.
