It a great day to serve the Lord, walking in the light of God.

For many children, summer is a time for adventure, friendships, and growth. At The Salvation Army’s summer camps—whether at the divisional camp, in Abilene, or through the TAP Summer Day Camp at the corps—young lives are being transformed in ways that last far beyond the season.

Eight-year-old Daniel arrived at camp shy and uncertain. He had never been away from home and wasn’t sure what to expect. But within days, he was climbing rock walls, singing around the campfire, and making friendships that would stay with him for years to come.

“I was nervous at first,” Daniel shares, “but my counselors and new friends made me feel at home. I learned I can do things I never thought I could!”

At the divisional camp, hundreds of children like Daniel experience the joy of outdoor activities, Bible lessons, and leadership development. Meanwhile, in Abilene, TAP Summer Day Camp ensures that kids can enjoy engaging, faith-filled programming close to home. From art and music to sports and field trips, each session is designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and nurture faith.

For families struggling financially, these camps provide more than just a fun escape—they offer a safe and structured environment where kids can grow, learn, and thrive.

“Camp is more than just a week of fun,” says a camp counselor. “It’s about giving kids the chance to experience love, encouragement, and the knowledge that God has an incredible plan for their lives.”

Thanks to generous supporters and dedicated staff, The Salvation Army’s summer camps continue to make an unforgettable impact.

Help make a difference. Your support ensures that every child, regardless of their circumstances, gets to experience the life-changing power of camp.
