Strengthening Mission, Compliance & Wellness: Programme Secretary’s Inspiring Visit to ISET

The India South Eastern Territory announces a phased rollout of a new unified web infrastructure.

The India National Office Programme Secretary undertook a purposeful and impactful visit to the India South Eastern Territory from 15–17 April 2026, meeting with leaders, reviewing institutions, and encouraging a renewed, contemporary image of The Salvation Army across India.

Arrival & Devotional Fellowship – 15 & 16 April 2026

Lieut. Colonel Lalliankunga arrived at Tuticorin Airport on 15 April 2026 at 4:00 PM. The next morning, he joined the ISET Chapel devotion, where Territorial Commander Commissioner Lalmingliana warmly welcomed and honoured him. His presence set a tone of unity, spiritual focus, and forward-looking mission.

Institutional Visits & Compliance Review – 16 April 2026

Throughout the day, the Programme Secretary visited several key social institutions, offering guidance and strengthening compliance standards:

  • Tucker Girls’ Home – Reviewed the checklist and shared practical suggestions for hostel development.
  • Tucker Boys’ Hostel – Provided insights on compliance and discussed challenges in social ministry.
  • Catherine Booth Hospital – Reviewed the checklist with the administrator and team, commending their maintenance efforts and advising on government norms and medical ethics.
  • Noble Memorial Boys’ Home – Offered further recommendations to enhance service quality.
  • Connecting Community Studio – Observed the media and broadcasting initiatives that support the Army’s communication mission.

Each visit reinforced the importance of accountability, compassion, and excellence in community service.

Strategic Leadership Meeting – 17 April 2026

On the final day, Lieut. Colonel Lalliankunga met with the Territorial Commander, TPWM, Programme Secretary, Social Secretary, PRO, IT Coordinator, and Project Officer. He highlighted three key priorities shaping the future of the territory:

1. Website Update & Public Relations: A modern, visually strong online presence is essential for today’s world. He emphasised updating the websites—especially those for the School of Nursing and the College of Nursing—and encouraged closer collaboration with the National Office. He also recommended forming a committee to collect, verify, and streamline information.

2. Officers’ Wellness: He shared his concern for officers’ health and stressed the need for a regular wellness survey, a medical advisor, and proper medical record maintenance.

3. Compliance Checklist for Social Services: He reiterated that maintaining accurate records and adhering to government norms is mandatory for all homes, hostels, and hospitals. Compliance ensures quality service and protects the integrity of the Army’s social ministry.

A Vision for a Renewed Salvation Army

Throughout his visit, Lieut. Colonel Lalliankunga encouraged leaders and staff to embrace a contemporary, mission-driven image of The Salvation Army—one that is transparent, compliant, compassionate, and ready to meet the challenges of modern India.

His guidance, insights, and encouragement have strengthened the territory’s commitment to excellence in ministry, communication, and community service.
