Promoted to Glory: Major Ann Louie

Major Ann Louie was Promoted to Glory on September 9, 2026, in Lakeland, FL. She was 82. 

Margaret Ann Turner was born on September 25, 1943, in Anniston, AL to parents Frank and Nellie Turner. 

As a young woman, Ann dedicated her life to a calling of faith and service. On May 1, 1964, Ann married Tom Michael Louie, Sr. They entered the Evangeline Booth College in 1965 in Atlanta as members of the Witnesses to the Faith session of cadets. Commissioned in 1967, their first two appointments were as assistant corps officers in St. Petersburg and Orlando, FL. 

They subsequently served as corps officers at Ft. Pierce, Ft. Myers, and Lakeland, FL; followed by posts in Salisbury, MD; and Albany and Augusta, GA. The Captains Louie then served in the Adult Rehabilitation Command (ARC), with Captain Ann as assistant administrator for ARCs in St. Petersburg, FL. She later worked as director of special services for ARCs in Charlotte, NC; Ft. Lauderdale (now with the rank of Major) and Orlando, FL. They retired from that final appointment on July 1, 2004. 

Major Ann Louie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Major Tom Louie, Sr.; one son, Tom Michael Louie, Jr.; one son-in-law, Henry Ford Houston, Jr.; her parents; and one sister, Martha Sholty. 

She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Todd) Schindler and Kelly (Leon) Williams; one daughter-in-law, Virginia Louie; and one brother, Butch Turner. She also leaves eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
