Partners in Mission: Moldova

Through the USA Southern Territory’s faithful partnership, children across Moldova, including Ukrainian refugee children, are discovering faith, hope, healing, and a place where they truly belong. Through camps, church programs, and the “See Me” project, Moldova is seeing lives changed in beautiful and lasting ways.

Camps continue to be one of the most powerful tools God uses to minister to youth and young adults in Moldova. For five days, leaders and children live, learn, pray, talk, and laugh together, growing side-by-side. Children leave camp spiritually encouraged, emotionally supported, and deeply connected through new and refreshed friendships. Sometimes their goodbyes are tearful — not through sadness, but because of how deeply they’ve been impacted by the time of fellowship.

Artiom, a young boy from Ungheni, shared that the first time he ever spoke honestly with God about his family struggles was at camp. He went every day to the prayer tent with a leader to pray and talk. Quiet, sacred moments like this have an indelible impact on both leaders and participants long after camp ends.

One of the greatest joys we, as Christian leaders, experience is watching children take real, personal steps in their faith. Last year in Moldova, eight children made the decision to enroll as junior soldiers. This year, five children have become junior soldiers, with even more expected to enroll following camp this summer in Dubasari.

We continue to see exciting growth across Moldova. Children’s clubs and Sunday worship attendance are increasing, and every Salvation Army corps now runs Sunday school.

One bright example is Simona, who decided to join her corps’ praise team after attending camp. She now sings regularly on Sundays and is active in corps life, both foundational steps towards shaping a lifelong faith.

Many of the children The Salvation Army serves in Moldova come from homes where parents are overworked, exhausted, or simply not able to give much time. Through Salvation Army camps and programs, children are given the attention they need to be fully seen and heard. This is why camps and children’s programs are planned so carefully: to help children grow, heal, and make good decisions for their future.

We thank God for the work He is doing in Moldova, and we also thank the USA Southern Territory. Your support is changing lives, strengthening faith, and helping prepare the next generation to reach their full potential in Jesus. Through our trusted partnership, shared vision, and mutual commitment, what was once impossible has been made possible — an impact far greater because we accomplish it together. A true example of one Army, one mission.
