Warm greetings in Christ,

It is both a joy and a privilege to share about our ministry in Greece and to express our deep gratitude for the faithful support of the USA Southern Territory. Your partnership has not only strengthened the work of The Salvation Army here but has also deeply impacted our family in ways that will bear fruit for generations.

Greece has faced significant social and economic challenges over the past decade. The financial crisis, high unemployment, refugee movements, and rising living costs have placed enormous pressure on vulnerable families. In this environment, the ministry of The Salvation Army has become a beacon of hope. Our work focuses on providing practical assistance – food distribution, clothing, and emotional support – while also offering spiritual encouragement and pastoral care. Every day we meet individuals who are struggling not only materially but also spiritually, and we are reminded that our calling is to serve the whole person — body, mind, and soul.

Through community outreach programs, family support initiatives, and personal counseling, we strive to reflect Christ’s love in tangible ways. We work closely with local communities, listening to their needs and responding with compassion and dignity. Whether it is a mother seeking food assistance, a refugee family searching for stability, or a young person needing guidance and hope for the future, we aim to be present and available.

The generous support of the Southern Territory has played a vital role in sustaining and strengthening these ministries. Financial assistance provided to the work in Greece has enabled us to maintain and expand essential programs during times of great need. Knowing that we are part of a global Army, standing together across continents, gives us courage and reassurance that we are not alone in this mission.

On a personal level, we are especially grateful for the investment made in our training. The opportunity to study at The Salvation Army Evangeline Booth College in Atlanta was a transformative experience for us. It deepened our theological understanding, strengthened our leadership skills, and renewed our spiritual vision. The education and formation we received there continue to shape our ministry every day in Greece. The Southern Territory’s financial support made this possible, and we will always remain thankful for that gift.

Furthermore, the support extended to our children’s education has been an extraordinary blessing. As parents in ministry, balancing calling and family responsibilities can sometimes be challenging. Knowing that our children were supported in their studies relieved a great burden and allowed us to focus more fully on our service. This investment in their future is something we treasure deeply. It has strengthened our entire family and affirmed that The Salvation Army truly cares for its officers and their loved ones.

With heartfelt gratitude and prayers,

Captains Christos and Magda Leveniotis
