Million-Dollar Milestone: Crafting for a Cause at The Salvation Army’s Spring Fabric Fair
PITTSBURGH (March 11, 2026) – Spring into savings at The Salvation Army’s Spring Fabric Fair on Saturday, April 11, 2026. This bi-annual sale has become a staple in the creative community for more than three decades. There will be “sew” much to see beginning at 8:30 a.m. at The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center, located at 1060 McNeilly Road. The event will conclude at 1:30 p.m.
All proceeds support The Salvation Army’s essential services for families and individuals across Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The spring and fall fabric fairs are only possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of the members of The Salvation Army’s Greater Pittsburgh Women’s Auxiliary. Members work tirelessly all year sorting, measuring and preparing donations ahead of the sales. Since its inception, the fabric fairs have raised nearly $1,000,000, a fundraising achievement the group expects to surpass this spring.
“This million-dollar milestone is an amazing accomplishment and a true testament to the dedication of the members of the Women’s Auxiliary” said Major Marika Payton, General Secretary/Allegheny County Coordinator for The Salvation Army. “Items donated and sold at these fairs have directly translated into food, shelter and support for our neighbors across Allegheny County. I am honored to be part of this long-standing ministry with such dedicated volunteers. Thank you for turning your passion for crafting into so many blessings for our community.”
Shop early for the best selection of rare fabrics, unique patterns and a variety of materials and equipment for crocheting, knitting, quilting and “sew” much more. After exploring the inventory indoors, shoppers can enjoy a $10 bag sale outside, which will be stocked with a variety of materials. Admission and parking are free, with complimentary shuttles running from parking lots at Keystone Oaks School located off McNeilly Road. Reusable shopping bags are highly encouraged. Snacks and lunch items will also be available for purchase. Please note, carts and strollers are prohibited.
These powerful fundraisers are made possible thanks to the donations of all the items for sale. There is always a need for donated items, as well as additional volunteers to measure and sort fabric in preparation for the fair. Donations are currently being accepted at The Salvation Army warehouse in Green Tree from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays (February through October) at the rear of 820 Parish Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15220. Please note, fabric donations will NOT be accepted during the actual fabric fair event.
