Love in Action: Fredericksburg, Virginia
By Xiomara Vidal /

The mission of The Salvation Army in Fredericksburg, Virginia continues through meaningful service to individuals and families in need throughout our local community. As part of this commitment, our corps recently launched our new Love in Action initiative, a campaign centered on sharing Christ’s love through fellowship, music, and support.
A few months ago, our corps band had the opportunity to minister at the local Greenbrier Apartments, where we provided hot dogs, music, and encouragement to residents within the community. Despite light rain, many tenants gathered to enjoy the band’s performance and spend time together in a welcoming environment filled with joy and connection.
The event allowed us to not only serve our neighbors directly but also help raise awareness of the many ways The Salvation Army supports the community year-round. It also reaffirmed for our corps the importance of continuing outreach efforts that build relationships, meet practical needs, and reflect the love of Christ in tangible ways.
Our corps looks forward to continuing to show Love in Action throughout the year as we remain dedicated to serving others with compassion, dignity, and hope.
