Match will double donations in Tippecanoe County up to $5,000 November 28 & 29

The Salvation Army's annual Christmas fundraising campaign will be getting a little help this week thanks to Indiana Business Advisors (IBA). Cash donations dropped into Red Kettles across the county November 28 & 29 will be doubled thanks to a generous $5,000 matching gift from IBA. The match is being offered with the hope that holiday shoppers might give a little more this year to make an even bigger impact in the lives of their neighbors in need.

On behalf of Indiana Business Advisors, Len and Sue Fulkerson shared their reason for supporting the charity through a Red Kettle match: "The ministries of The Salvation Army are so important to our community. Indiana Business Advisors is excited to offer this Red Kettle match so everyone can double the impact of their charitable giving and even more people facing challenges will find joy and hope in the coming year."

The Salvation Army has seen many more families walk through the door this year in need of help with rent, utilities, and food. In 2024, almost 72,000 meals were provided to those facing hunger in the community, a significant jump from the year before.  Over 10,000 people received basic social services from The Salvation Army last year, including rent and utility assistance that helped families keep safe and warm with a roof over their heads. The funds raised by Red Kettles will help to ensure that The Salvation Army can continue to meet these growing needs while providing year-round programming and services to children, families, and adults in the community.

"During this special season of giving, The Salvation Army extends a warm thank you to Indiana Business Advisors for providing matching funds up to $5,000 for donations received in our kettles on November 28 and 29," said Major Marlys Anderson of The Salvation Army. "In these challenging times, these funds will help us to have an even greater impact as we seek to meet the needs of families and individuals in our community who are struggling to make ends meet."

Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday will find bell ringers at Walmart, Sam's Club, Hobby Lobby, and near JCPenney and Kohl’s at the Tippecanoe Mall. Volunteer bell ringers are still needed to man every kettle both days of the match. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this week is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule.

Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given. Visit SALafayette.org to learn more about how you can join The Salvation Army as we spread joy in 2026.
