Hope Lofts Grand Opening Celebrates New Beginnings for Medford Families
MEDFORD, Ore. — The Salvation Army proudly celebrated the grand opening of Hope Lofts on Friday, marking a significant milestone in the fight against homelessness in Southern Oregon.
The new development adds seven fully furnished studio apartments to the Hope House Transitional Living Program, more than doubling the number of studio units available for individuals working toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
Designed to provide more than just a place to stay, Hope House offers a comprehensive approach to rebuilding lives through temporary housing, personalized case management, employment assistance, financial coaching, life skills training, and ongoing support as residents prepare for independent living.
The expansion comes at a critical time. According to The Salvation Army, homelessness in Jackson County has increased by 132% over the past five years, highlighting the growing need for safe, supportive housing and long-term solutions.
"When somebody comes into the program that has maybe never been in housing as an adult, being able to watch them grow, get a job, pay bills, budget, and then being able to hand them the keys to an apartment and still have the support of our staff—it's everything. It really sets people up for success."

Construction on Hope Lofts began with a groundbreaking ceremony on July 15, 2025, and represents a nearly $1.7 million investment in the Medford community. The project was made possible through the generosity and partnership of numerous organizations, including:

Every apartment represents more than new construction—it represents stability, dignity, and hope for neighbors taking the next step toward permanent housing.
