Hess Irrigation to Gift Irrigation System to Local Senior
Hess Irrigation is partnering with The Salvation Army of Michigan City to donate a residential irrigation system (valued at up to $3,000) to a La Porte County senior citizen who has faced hardship in recent years.
The gift is part of a local initiative to support and uplift members of the community who may be in need. Nominations will be accepted throughout the month of September, and one recipient will be selected in October. Installation will be completed by the end of the year.
“We believe in supporting the people who make this community what it is,” said Michael Hess, owner of Hess Irrigation. “We’re proud to partner with The Salvation Army of Michigan City to help improve the life of someone who has had a tough time but continues to push forward. This is our way of giving back in a meaningful, lasting way.”
To be eligible, nominees must be residents of La Porte County and age 60 or older. Each nomination must be accompanied by a donation of at least $20 to The Salvation Army of Michigan City. In addition, nominators are asked to include a photo of the nominee along with a short description explaining how this gift would benefit them. Nominations should be submitted by email to hessirrigation@gmail.com.
“The Salvation Army values not only those who support our work directly, but also those who find creative and impactful ways to care for residents of La Porte County,” said Major Dale Simmons of The Salvation Army of Michigan City. “We are grateful to Hess Irrigation for their generosity and for using their skills to make a real difference in someone’s life.”
