The Salvation Army Fort Wayne is expanding access to its food pantry this holiday season.

Traditionally, the pantry operates on a limited basis during this time due to other seasonal programs. However, with the growing ned in our community, we are committed to ensuring families have the support they need.

Beginning Monday, November 17, the pantry will be open every Monday and Tuesday at 12:00 PM. Service will be provided on a first come, first served basis. This will continue until the end of the year when we will return to regular hours. The food pantry will not be open on December, 15, 16, and 22.

There has been an increase in demand since mid summer, but recently it has risen even further, with many new faces. “People are coming in stating it’s the first time they have been to a pantry.” Commented Dena Smith, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army. “Our goal is to put food on families’ tables and provide hope and support during these difficult times.

No one should go hungry during the holidays. Thank you for helping us spread the word and support our neighbors in need.
