PITTSBURGH (August 11, 2026) – The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center invites the community to its fourth annual Feed it Forward fundraiser on Thursday, September 17, beginning at 6 p.m. All proceeds from this community dining experience will directly support hunger-relief initiatives for neighbors in need across the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

This year’s keynote speaker will be former Major League Baseball All-Star first baseman, coach and media personality Sean Casey. The fundraiser will feature hors d'oeuvres, a chef-prepared dinner, live music and an auction. Thanks to a generous donor, every gift and ticket purchase will be matched, dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000, doubling the impact!

“With faith and commitment as our guide, we are dedicated to eliminating hunger and malnutrition in our community, but we cannot do it alone,” Major Justin Caldwell, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center, said. “Many of our neighbors are only one job loss or medical crisis away from food insecurity. With your support, we hope this fundraiser can be a home run!”

The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple location serves families and individuals living in the neighborhoods of Bethel Park, Brookline, Carrick, Castle Shannon, Dormont, Knoxville, Mount Lebanon, Mount Oliver, Mount Washington, South Park and surrounding areas. In the last fiscal year (2024-25), 12,818 grocery orders were provided from the choice food pantry on McNeilly Road, which is set up like a grocery store where those in need can select their own items. This Salvation Army location also served 3,052 meals throughout the year. Additionally, ten onsite garden beds with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and zucchini provide fresh produce to the community.

Tickets can be purchased for $100 at salvationarmywpa.org/feed. The Salvation Army would like to thank our Harvest Level Sponsors, The Musuneggi Financial Group and the family of Ron Joseph, along with event sponsors C&G Strategies, JAWS Marketing, GEICO and Cynthia Williams. Sponsors must register by August 21, in order to ensure recognition in the event program.
