Elkhart Salvation Army Receiving Applications For 2026 Christmas Assistance

The Salvation Army of Elkhart is once again preparing to assist families in need for this upcoming Christmas season. Applications will be accepted online from October 1 through October 14. Applications will not be accepted before October 1 or after midnight on October 14. Persons must apply online by going to www.saangeltree.org. The Elkhart Salvation Army will only accept applications from those who reside in the northern half of Elkhart County, LaGrange County and Steuben County. Applications are for those households with children aged 14 and under.
Qualified families may be chosen for adoption once per lifetime. Each household not chosen for adoption will receive:
- Red Ribbon Basket filled with personal hygiene and household cleaning items
- Grocery gift card
- A limited number of children’s toys and gifts will be available through the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.
Required documents to be uploaded are Government issued photo ID, proof of address and income, and birth certificates for children ages 14 and under. Assistance in registering can be found by calling 574-970-0088
