ELKHART SALVATION ARMY ANNUAL CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE DISTRIBUTION

WHO The Salvation Army of Elkhart

WHAT The Salvation Army of Elkhart will be distributing Christmas assistance to 411 families this year who pre-registered back in the Fall. Pre-registered 
families will be receiving gifts, toys, household, personal hygiene items and 
food gift cards donated by local businesses, churches, organizations, and 
individuals. In collaboration with Toys For Tots, 987 local children will 
receive gifts and toys for Christmas.

WHY Each year there are hundreds of local families struggling financially due to economic downturns, higher inflation, and loss or reduction of income. They 
lack enough resources to try and meet basic needs while having enough 
funds to purchase gifts and food at Christmastime. The Salvation Army 
secures Christmas resources for these families through their generous 
donors.

WHEN Christmas Distribution 2025
December 8 – 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Donors will drop off their gifts, toys, 
baskets and gift cards for distribution later in the week.
December 10 – 8:00 am – 4:00 pm 43 pre-registered “adopted” families 
come to receive their donated items.
December 11 – 8:00 am – 4:00 pm The first half of 411 pre-registered 
families come to receive their baskets of items and gift cards.
December 12 – 8:00 am – 4:00 pm The second half of 411 pre-registered 
families come to receive their baskets of items and gift cards.
Media interviews, photo, and video opportunities are available during these 
days.
