Donations to The Salvation Army's Red Kettles Doubled December 18-20
Bell ringers for The Salvation Army of Kosciusko County may be ringing a little louder December 18-20 thanks to a $5,000 challenge from a local couple looking to double donations to Red Kettles. Long time supporters of The Salvation Army, the couple is asking shoppers to give generously to make the most of the challenge and raise at least $5,000 in Kosciusko County Red Kettles.
"We have just a few days left to raise funds in Red Kettles, so this incredible gift is such a blessing!" said Major Jean Thammavongsa with The Salvation Army. "I hope that shoppers see this generosity and put a little more in the kettle. There are so many in our community who count on these donations and the programs that they fund at The Salvation Army. Thank you to everyone who rises to the challenge and helps to fill the kettles on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!"
Cold and snowy weather has had a big impact on The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign this year. Shoppers staying home and moving to online shopping are encouraged to still make time to give through the Virtual Red Kettle. Just visit salarmy.us/warsawvrk2025 to make a secure gift and help The Salvation Army reach its Christmas fundraising goal.
Last year The Salvation Army provided 73,630 meals to those facing food insecurity and 14,364 basic social services, like utility and rent assistance, to county residents. These and many other ministries are supported by the Red Kettle Campaign each fall. The $5,000 match will help The Salvation Army get closer to its fundraising goal, especially if shoppers respond with their own generosity.
Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle this week will find bell ringers at Walmart, Kroger, and Martin's in Warsaw and Neighborhood Fresh in North Webster. There are still many shifts in need of volunteers over the three days of the match. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell through Christmas Eve is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule.
