Christmas Eve Only: Donations to The Salvation Army to Be Doubled Up to $8,000 on Final Day of Red Kettle Campaign
The Salvation Army of Evansville is excited to announce that a local donor has stepped up to help the organization meet its fundraising goal on the final day of the annual Red Kettle Campaign. On Christmas Eve (December 24) all donations made to Red Kettles across Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Posey counties will be doubled up to $8,000 in hopes that shoppers make one last gift to make a difference in their community.
"Every dollar dropped into the kettle becomes two—doubled in impact, doubled in hope" said Captain Brandon Lewis with The Salvation Army. "When we give together, we help families regain stability, warmth, and dignity. Join the match, lift a neighbor, and show those in need that their community stands with them."
The annual Red Kettle Campaign is just six weeks long but provides the funds necessary for year-round ministries at The Salvation Army. The list of programs and services provided to the public includes the vital daily food program, Sally's Kitchen, which served more than 226,000 nutritious meals to local residents struggling with food insecurity. The $8,000 match, if reached, could help The Salvation Army reach its fundraising goal to keep programs like this, and many more, running through 2026.
Volunteer bell ringers are still needed for Christmas Eve to ensure that every Red Kettle can be out on this important day. Individuals, groups, and families are encouraged to visit RegisterToRing.com to sign up for the time and location of their choosing. Red Kettles are being placed at a number of locations this year, including Walmart, Schnuck's, Sam's Club, Wesselman's, Hobby Lobby, IGA, Eastland Mall, JCPenney, Dillard's, Price Less Foods, and Boonville City Hall.
Donations can also be made online to help The Salvation Army reach its holiday fundraising goal before the end of the year. Visit salarmy.us/evansvillevrk2025 to give to the 2025 Virtual Red Kettle.
All funds donated to The Salvation of Evansville will stay local to help out residents in need throughout 2026. To learn more about The Salvation Army's mission and ministries, visit SAEvansville.org.
