Centennial Celebration: A Kingdom Preview
By Kristin Mudge /

The Southern Territorial Centennial Celebration, “All for Jesus,” promises to be a gathering like no other. Set for June 4-6, 2027, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, thousands of Salvationists from all over the territory and around the world will come together to reflect on our history, examine and rededicate the ways God is using us in the present, and celebrate the future He already has in store for us.
Leading up to the weekend’s main celebration of the ordination and commissioning of the cadets of the Proclaimers of Transformation session, a myriad of events and councils will have something for everyone to get involved in and enjoy. From the main sessions and youth programs to the historical exhibits and music and arts Spotlight competition, the halls and gathering places will be filled with people of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities represented throughout the Southern Territory, in addition to our many invited guests from our Partners in Mission abroad and International Headquarters.
“Seeing the cultures represented in the territory is something that I always love. I love to hear the different languages spoken in our corps, the different expressions of The Salvation Army in different communities,” Territorial Commander Commissioner Kelly Igleheart tells us. “When they all come together, those things form this richness, this beauty that I don’t know is paralleled in many other denominations… Which is, I think, a beautiful expression of the Kingdom of God.”
Commissioner Igleheart explains that of all the incredible events and moments of the Centennial, he is most looking forward to the people. From Salvation Army officers and soldiers to friends, advisory board members, and invited guests, there will be all types of individuals in attendance.
“That’s got to be one of the top things for me. To see the diversity of the territory in one space, at one time, worshiping one God in unison,” Commissioner Igleheart continues, “which is only but a teaser for what the Kingdom of God is going to look like.”
