Share Story

The Salvation Army's USA Southern Territory proudly spotlights two extraordinary case managers, Amanda McGlone and Lydia Prather, whose work embodies the heart of the mission of the Renewal Place program.

Amanda McGlone

Amanda has been with The Salvation Army for three years, serving in multiple roles that reflect her deep commitment to supporting vulnerable families. From her early days as a monitor for Emergency Families, to her work with the Single Women’s Residence, and now as the POH Case Manager for Renewal Place, Amanda brings grace, strength, and unwavering empathy to every interaction. Her adaptability and attentiveness make her an anchor for the women and children she supports.

Lydia Prather

Lydia is a ray of sunshine whose warmth and positivity brighten the lives of everyone she encounters. For the past year, she has served as a Renewal Place case manager, working closely with single women in the program. Her dedication to advocating for clients — especially in helping them regain custody of their children — has been nothing short of remarkable. Lydia’s compassion and determination are a beacon of hope for the families she serves.

To Amanda and Lydia: Thank you. Your dedication, compassion, and unwavering support make a lasting impact. We are deeply grateful for everything you do to uplift and empower the women and children of Renewal Place.

Renewal Place is a transformative two-year residential program designed for women facing substance abuse challenges — and their children. By keeping families together, Renewal Place fosters healing across generations while supporting long-term recovery and stability.

At Renewal Place, families receive:

  • Comprehensive substance abuse treatment
  • Trauma repair therapy
  • Individualized case management
  • Parenting support and education
  • Employment readiness and financial literacy training

This holistic approach helps mothers rebuild their lives while nurturing healthy, resilient children — breaking cycles of addiction and creating pathways to independence.

At The Salvation Army's Purdue Center of Hope in Memphis, the Renewal Place Program is more than just a treatment initiative — it’s a lifeline for women and families seeking healing, stability, and hope.
