150 Years of Service: The Salvation Army Bath-Brunswick Corps

For 150 years, The Salvation Army has been part of the Bath community, serving neighbors and helping meet the needs of individuals and families throughout the area.

Since 1886, The Salvation Army Bath-Brunswick Corps has provided support to people across Bath, Brunswick and surrounding communities. Over the years, that service has taken many forms, from providing food, clothing and assistance with utilities to responding to disasters and helping families during the holiday season.

But 150 years of service is about more than programs. It is about people.

Generations of volunteers, staff, officers, donors and community partners have come together to help their neighbors through difficult seasons and celebrate with them during better ones. Youth programs, community activities, worship and social services have all played a role in making The Salvation Army a lasting part of the community.

Today, The Salvation Army Bath-Brunswick Corps continues that tradition of service from its location on Congress Avenue, serving communities throughout the Midcoast. Its work remains centered on meeting people where they are and providing practical support, hope and a welcoming place to turn.

After 150 years, the mission remains the same: to serve, to support and to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

From one generation to the next, The Salvation Army Bath-Brunswick Corps is celebrating 150 years of service, and looking ahead to the years to come.
