Adult Rehabilitation Centers: Restoring Lives with Hope and Purpose
For more than 100 years, The Salvation Army has operated Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs) across the United States, offering help and hope to individuals facing a variety of social, emotional, and spiritual challenges—including issues related to substance abuse.
Our ARCs are charitable residential programs designed to support adults who are experiencing profound instability in their lives. These 180-day programs provide a structured environment where beneficiaries can begin to rebuild their lives, often at little or no cost to them.
A Holistic Approach to Recovery
Each ARC focuses on the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of its participants. Through a combination of individual and group counseling, religious worship, life-skills development, and work therapy, beneficiaries gain the tools they need to become independent and self-sufficient adults.
Participants engage in meaningful work therapy assignments—up to eight hours a day—designed to instill discipline, build confidence, and foster a sense of purpose. These assignments are tailored to meet individual needs and help beneficiaries develop strong work habits that support long-term stability.
Lives Restored, Families Reunited
The impact of our Adult Rehabilitation Centers goes far beyond the individual. Many beneficiaries are reunited with their families, resume healthy routines, and re-enter society with renewed dignity and hope. Children get their parents back. People get their lives back.

To participate in an ARC program, individuals must:

-
Pass a drug test and breathalyzer upon arrival
-
