The Salvation Army in East Cleveland Opens Summer Day Camp

What: The Salvation Army in East Cleveland Corps Community Center continues to meet the needs of its local community. One critical need is to support local youth with enrichment during the summer months. The Salvation Army is opening a 7-week Summer Day Camp for pre-registered children, offering a full-day program that focuses on recreation, field trips, life skills, arts and music, and academic enrichment.

Why: The Salvation Army in East Cleveland has been working tirelessly to respond to the needs in their community, which was recently featured as the city with the lowest median family income in the United States. This newly created program is offered at a low cost to families and is open to children ages 5 to 13.  When registration for this program opened, over 81 children applied for the 55 available spots in the first-year program.
