Christmas Assistance

The Salvation Army Harrisburg will be accepting Family Christmas Assistance appointments starting September 14 for eligible households in Dauphin and Eastern Cumberland Counties. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For Families with Children 

Each child age 0-18 will receive: 

• Toys, books, or other age appropriate gifts 
• A clothing Item, blanket or winter coat
• Teens will also receive a voucher for shoes

Each family will also receive a food voucher for a portion of their holiday meal.

Eligibility for Households

Families whose pre-tax income is at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines are eligible.

Scheduling by Appointment Only

Scheduling opens September 14th, 2026. Please bring the following items with you to your appointment:

• IDs for everyone in the family
• Proof of residency
• Income verification

Once scheduled, you will receive a one-time use code to complete an application online before your appointment.

Notes and Reminders

• Assistance is limited and depends on donations.
• Appointment schedule will close at capacity.
• Missing an appointment or not bringing proper documentation may result in loss of eligibility.
