Every older adult deserves companionship, support, and the opportunity to thrive at every stage of life.
The Salvation Army is dedicated to meeting the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors, including older New Yorkers who might typically spend their days alone at home.
Many of our centers provide regularly scheduled activities for seniors, including arts and crafts, special events, socialization, and games. Other opportunities through which we support our senior population include camp retreats and regular visits to extend care facilities. The Salvation Army is a safe haven for our senior populations, just as it is for people of all ages who are in need.

- Purchasing the tools and material necessary for arts and crafts
- More events and places where seniors can socialize with others
- Trips outside of the city like senior camp in Star Lake
