Red Kettles
Our iconic red kettles signal the start of the holiday season. Donations collected in the red kettles support the programs and services right here in the Springfield community. It is a great holiday tradition for family, friends, church organizations, work groups, and more. You can join the Salvation Army of Springfield as a bellringer from Nov. 1 to Dec. 23 by volunteering at one of our iconic red kettles.

Holiday Meals
The Salvation Army provides Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for community members.

    • Community Thanksgiving Lunch - 1707 W Chestnut Expressway - November 27, 2025: 11:30 AM
    • Community Christmas Lunch - 636 N Boonville - December 25, 2025: 12:00 PM (noon)

Senior Citizen Holiday Assistance

Open to anyone 60 years of age and over that resides in Greene County*;  1-$50 Price Cutter gift card and 1-$50 Walgreens gift card.

Online registration is Oct. 20-31, 2025 - TO REGISTER, GO TO WWW.SAANGELTREE.ORG Individuals registered online will receive a confirmation and appointment time via the provided email address.

In-person registration is Oct. 20-24, 2025 - 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. at the Worship Center at 1707 W Chestnut Expressway. Appointment times are given during the in-person registration assistance.

For registered and qualified Senior Citizens, the Holiday Assistance, in-person distribution is Dec. 9, 2025 - 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Worship Center at 1707 W Chestnut Expressway. Available to registered Seniors only.

 *REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 125 SENIOR CITIZENS. Participants must provide their photo ID and a recent piece of mail (not junk mail) to verify residency.

Angel Tree

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program allows donors to purchase gifts and clothes for families in need to brighten their holidays. Angel Trees can be found at area Walmart and Sam's Club locations, as well as at The Battlefield Mall and various other supporting businesses.

Angel Trees will be present at the supporting businesses and local partners by Nov. 14, 2025. 

A Holiday Walmart Registry and Amazon Registry are available online for those who want to shop from the comfort of their home. All orders will be shipped directly to the Salvation Army of Springfield.  Please visit the Holiday Walmart Registry.

2025 Angel Tree Toy Shop 
The 2025 Angel Tree Toy Shop distribution will be:  

    • Dec. 16, 2025, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.                
    • Dec. 17, 2025, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. 

**REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED**

Families with children aged 16 and younger who reside in Greene or Christian counties are encouraged to register for the Angel Tree Toy Shop distribution program.

Online registration is Oct. 20-31, 2025- TO REGISTER, GO TO WWW.SAANGELTREE.ORG Families registered online will receive a confirmation and appointment time via the provided email address.

In-person registration is Oct. 20-24, 2025 - 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. at the Worship Center at 1707 W Chestnut Expressway. Appointment times are given during the in-person registration assistance.

The following items are needed to register:

    1. Valid photo ID for all household members 18 and over - for example: state-issued photo ID, passport, One Door IDs (by WellSky), Incarceration ID with name/photo.
    2. Child's ID for ALL children 16 years and younger - for example: birth certificate, Medicaid/Insurance card, school registration, immunization record.   
    3. Proof of address with applicant’s name, such as a current lease or monthly bill.                               

The Salvation Army of Springfield partners with a local clearinghouse to prevent duplication of services. Any household attempting to receive duplicate services will be disqualified from receiving services.             

**REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 1,000 CHILDREN OR 350 HOUSEHOLDS**
