The Salvation Army Welcomes New Leadership in Cape Girardeau 

Major Brendon Robertson brings nearly 30 years of experience to new role 

As of July 1, The Salvation Army of Cape Girardeau, welcomed new leadership. Major Brendon Robertson joins as the Corps Community Center administrator. In his role, Major Robertson is responsible for mission and ministry in Cape Girardeau, and works alongside a broader Service Extension team to reach surrounding communities in Southeast Missouri. 

Captains Stephen and Lily Reinier, who served as corps administrators in Cape Girardeau since 2021, have been assigned as Corps officers in Ottawa, Illinois. 

Born in Victoria and raised in Western Australia, Major Robertson was commissioned as a Salvation Army officer in November of 1998. He spent over 10 years serving as a Corps officer and Divisional Youth Consultant, and served neighbors experiencing substance abuse through rehabilitation in Australia.  

In 2013, Major Robertson came to the United States as an administrator in training, and has served for the past decade at Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers in Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin.  

"It has been a joy to serve our Adult Rehabilitation Centers and see the positive impact that builds from household donations," said Major Robertson. "I look forward to this opportunity to serve as a corps officer and get to know the Cape Girardeau community. With so much history in the region and a well-recognized academic center, I am confident that we have both the knowledge and power to provide compassionate care to suffering humanity, right here in our community." 

Major Robertson will serve at the Corps Community Center located at 701 Good Hope Street. 

Salvation Army officers are appointed to new roles periodically, and such appointments are prayerfully evaluated based on community needs, officer skills, length of service, children’s schooling, and a number of other factors.
