A Bridge of Normalcy: Toy Shop Blesses Branson Mother
The great thing about a small community like Branson is that you may actually work with or run into the people you serve in real life. One such example comes from a precious mother at a local Branson business where Envoys Steve and Lisa Roberson patronize and are proud to frequent. This weeping mother shared with us that because of our mission at the Branson Corps, and the Toy Shop Experience granted to hundreds of children in the neighborhood, her kids would get a Christmas they otherwise would never have. It was true gratitude - the kind you hope to see when you put your heart and effort into this kind of outreach.
There were some unexpected challenges which recently set the family back, and the children's father was inbetween jobs. Our Toy Shop was the bridge of normalcy that made a difference to the next stage of their lives. It is the exact reason we do what we do. This year, The Salvation Army in Branson helped supply Christmas for nearly 600 children, and we are so grateful to have the opportunity and blessing to fill the gap.
