Salvation Army Housing Programs in Rochester, MN

Castleview Apartments

Castleview is an apartment complex located on North Broadway Avenue in Rochester, MN. Of the 32 studio units, 8 are reserved for working, low-income individuals, and the rest house people who have struggled with long-term homelessness and a diagnosed disability.

Castleview is a permanent supportive housing complex, and there is a case manager on staff to provide support specifically for our residents.

Open units are filled using the Coordinated Entry system. To schedule a Coordinated Entry Assessment at our social services center in Rochester, MN, please call 507-288-3663.

Access Home (Transitional Housing)

Where Castleview provides housing for single adults with substantial barriers to housing, Access Home is The Salvation Army rehousing program for homeless families. Our team fills program openings using the Coordinated Entry system (to schedule a Coordinated Entry Assessment, please call 507-288-3663).

We work with families to help them find housing in Olmsted County, and then our program subsidizes their rent for a period of time. While they are in our program, households meet regularly with our case manager, they work to secure their financial circumstances, find employment, learn financial literacy, set goals for themselves, and more. As families become more stable, we gradually decrease the amount of rental subsidy The Salvation Army provides.

The goal of the program is that families would graduate with the ability to afford their living costs, and without any need to find new housing.

Pathway of Hope

Pathway of Hope provides families with case management, a support system to help struggling families to set and reach their own goals, while also providing access to Salvation Army services and resources.

To learn more about the Pathway of Hope program, please call 507-288-3663.

Rental Assistance

The Salvation Army provides rental assistance to prevent evictions in Olmsted County, MN. Qualified renters must show either an eviction letter or another form of proof that their housing is in jeopardy, the event that led to them falling behind on their rent (a job loss, medical bill, car accident, etc.), and verify that they are able to afford their housing under normal circumstances.

Our team also works closely with the County and Three Rivers Community Action, two other sources of support for rental assistance.

To learn more about rental assistance deadlines and qualifications, please call 507-288-3663 or email RochesterSocialServices@usc.SalvationArmy.org

Heatshare Utility Assistance

The Salvation Army's Heatshare program provides utility assistance to prevent shut-off and to help households get their utilities turned back on. As with our rental assistance program, households must present a shut-off notice, the reason they fell behind on their utility bills, and verify that they are able to afford their utilities under normal circumstances.

To learn more about Heatshare deadlines and qualifications, please call 507-288-3663 or email RochesterSocialServices@usc.SalvationArmy.org
