Youth Programs

All young people deserve the best start in life possible. Salvation Army youth programs work to support young people in learning new life skills, making friends, working in a team environment, and connecting with all areas of life - spiritual, social, educational, and recreation.

How we help empower youth

Summer Day Camp
Kids need a fun and safe place to spend their summer days, and The Salvation Army is happy to provide our Day Camp Program for them. Young people aged 5 and completed Kindergarten, through age 12 can spend Monday to Friday, June 22 to August 14, at our Summer Day Camp from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. A wide variety of activities is planned for them - swimming, sports, bible class, games, crafts, music, field trips, and more! Contact our office to register today because space is limited.

Character Building Programs
The Salvation Army's Character Building programs provide opportunities for young people to develop their character through exploring different activities, experiencing new things, and learning how to work together as a group. There are different groups for boys and girls, ages 5 to 18 years, that meet on Tuesdays at 6:15 pm.

Youth Music
Instruction in brass instruments and Singing Company (our children's choir) are held on Tuesday evenings. Qualified leaders instruct both of these areas. Brass musicians are also expected to practice at home. Both groups are eligible to attend Music Camp in the summer.

Corps Cadets
BOLD for Corps Cadets is a practical training that provides the individual an opportunity to discover and develop potential for effective leadership in The Salvation Army as a soldier (church member) or an officer (pastor). BOLD stands for: Bible Study, Our Heritage, Leadership, and Discipleship. Corps Cadets meets once per month.

STRIVE Sports
There is no better way to learn teamwork and friendly competition than through sports. Throughout the year, our STRIVE sports program offers basketball, soccer, and hockey programs.

Day Camp & Summer Camps
In the summer months, The Salvation Army offers children a safe place to spend their time with caring leaders at both our Warren Summer Day Camp and our Salvation Army Echo Grove Camp.

The Salvation Army Is Here to Help More Kids Learn More Things

After-school programs have been proven to foster social and academic development as programs provide safe and structured environments for kids during after-school hours, oftentimes filling the space between the end of the school day and when parents return from work.

We know that every parent wants the best for their child’s future. Sometimes, in a world filled with distractions and challenges, finding the right support system can make all the difference. From homework assistance and tutoring to encouraging higher grades and boosting motivation to team-building activities and cooperative learning experiences that help develop essential social skills, our programs are designed to empower kids to unlock their potential and thrive.
