Traverse City MI Corps Cure Hunger Information
The Salvation Army, Traverse City, provides food, nutrition, and fellowship to area individuals and families experiencing hunger through the Community Meal program, Free Food Market, and Food Pantry at the Community Center at 1239 Barlow Street.
Community Meal Program
Sal's Kitchen is located at our Community Center and provides healthy, nutritious meals at lunch every Monday and Wednesday from 12-1. Everyone is welcome. Community Meals are served Eat-in or To-go.
Food Pantry and Free Food Market
The Food Pantry is open for walk-in assistance on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30-11:30 am and 1-3 pm.
Our Free Food Market is open for the summer. Fresh perishable food and other food items are available Monday and Wednesday from noon - 1 PM in the parking lot of the Community Center at The Salvation Army Community Center, 1239 Barlow St., for all in need. Food is based on available food donations.
Help Make a Difference
We have a critical ongoing need for the following items.
- Canned meat/tuna/chicken
- Pasta and pasta sauce
- Soups and stews
- Hot and cold cereal
- Canned and dried fruit
- Fruit snacks
- Baby food and formula
- Basic hygiene items are always gratefully accepted as well
Food donations and financial support are accepted Monday - Friday, 9 - 4 pm at The Salvation Army Community Center, 1239 Barlow Street, Traverse City. You can also conveniently donate online by clicking here.
