Hunger Services at Sturgis, MI Corps

The Salvation Army is dedicated to alleviating hunger in our community. Our local office operates community food pantries to provide nutritious food to individuals and families in need. We understand the challenges that food insecurity can pose in this area, and we're committed to providing a helping hand.

Our food pantries offer a variety of food items, including canned goods and nonperishable staples. Some even offer fresh produce. We work closely with local partners to ensure that we can provide a diverse selection of food to meet the unique needs of our community.

By providing access to nutritious food, we aim to improve the health and well-being of the neighbors we serve. We believe that everyone deserves to have access to the nourishment they need to thrive.

How we help cure hunger

Sal's Soup Kitchen

The Salvation Army provides a hot meal Monday through Thursday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at our Sturgis Community Center, 105 N. Fourth Street.  

Faith Lutheran Church provides a hot lunch at noon on the last Sunday of each month at The Salvation Army Community Center.

All are welcome. No appointment, eligibility process, or documents are necessary.  Anyone who needs help supplementing their food budget may come and eat.  The only thing required is to sign in when you get here.  

 Food Pantry

The pantry program is a tool that helps families and individuals through financial difficulty and food insecurity by donating food from the community and purchasing it from the Salvation Army.  The pantry can also serve as an entry point for those who need more in-depth case management.  The pantry allows us to work with residents and help them create their own budget.

FOOD PANTRY HOURS

Our Food Pantry in St. Joseph County is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
