Petoskey, MI Corps History

Serving Others In His Name Since 1901

The Salvation Army was founded in London, England in 1865 by William and Catherine Booth and is home to International Headquarters for Corps located in 134 countries. The United States National Headquarters was founded in 1880 and is now located in Alexandria, VA. It oversees Central, Eastern, Southern and Western Territories. 

The Petoskey Corps, founded in 1901, is part of the Great Lakes Division which is part of the Central Territory. It serves Antrim, Charlevoix and Emmet Counties.

The Salvation Army's mission is the preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination
