Petoskey, MI Corps Emergency Financial Assistance Program Information
ATTENTION: Prior to applying for help with HEAT or ELECTRICITY services, you must first apply through MI DHHS. No exceptions are able to be made.

The Emergency Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) provides financial assistance for food, rent, utilities, and other critical human needs that threaten a household’s livelihood, stability, or overall wellness. Some examples of EFAP assistance include:
- Energy assistance such as heat (gas, propane, wood, etc) or electricity
- Rental assistance to prevent eviction or for the first month's rent
- Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) provide basic needs like shelter, food, and clothing after disasters like fires, floods, and tornadoes occur. (Includes issues caused by pandemics)
- Other types of assistance vary, such as clothing vouchers, household supply and furniture vouchers, emergency (out of area) transportation for housing or medical needs, emergency food, holiday assistance, and more...

Walk-in intake appointments are also available on Thursdays from 9:30 am-3:00 pm in our East Jordan office, located at Crossroads Resale Shop and Care and Share Food Pantry.
