Flint is still known for being the basketball mecca of the world. Hosting the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world creates excitement and a bright future for children attending The Salvation Army L.I.F.E. Center's Gift Discovery Programming. Join us as a Sponsor, Volunteer, or Player this year, 2026.

This will be the second year for The Salvation Army L.I.F.E. Center to host such a huge event; everyone is super excited. We are expecting to have 200 teams this year. Spectators, Players, and partnering organizations will experience a truly fun and enriching tournament.

Linnell Jones McKenney, the executive director of The Salvation Army L.I.F.E. Center and Flint’s first female professional basketball hall-of-fame and world champion, has played in many Gus Macker tournaments across the state. But here at home is her favorite.

Her quest to bring Gus Macker back to Flint 5 years ago after a 20-year hiatus has been successful and has become the 3rd largest community event in the Flint area.
