Brightening the holidays for our community

The Salvation Army Corps Community Center-Columbus Holiday Giving Information

Share the Christmas Spirit

Through your continued support, we are able to come alongside families, singles, and seniors during the holidays when it can be extra difficult. Oftentimes, the holidays serve as a reminder for struggling families that they can't afford gifts or a new coat for their kids. The Salvation Army is giving people the opportunity to make a difference.

Angel Tree

Social service agencies and schools refer families to The Salvation Army for help with Christmas. Participants are interviewed to verify that the family is truly in need. Verification is made to ensure that the family is not receiving duplicate services from another agency.

Angel tags are distributed to sponsors who shop for the child's wish list. We recommend spending at least $100 for each Angel adopted. Angels are adopted until mid-December when parents eagerly arrive at a designated location on distribution day to pick up gifts for their Angels. Each parent has the opportunity to wrap the donated gifts.

The Salvation Army will kick off its annual Red Kettle Christmas Campaign soon, and those iconic kettles will once more appear at some of your favorite shopping locations. The volunteer standing next to that kettle, ringing a brass bell and greeting shoppers, is the most important member of our team during the holiday season.

Are you ready to sign up? Just visit RegisterToRing.com and type in your city or zip code to get started. You can create both individual or group accounts to make it easier to sign up throughout the season. Register To Ring makes it easy to find a kettle location, date, and time that works with your schedule. With a group account, you can even claim a kettle during a block of time and schedule members of your church, team, or club to ring there. For those competitive spirits out there, seeing which bell-ringing teams can raise the most for The Salvation Army is always a fun way to “do the most good.”
