The Salvation Army of Bloomington Responds to Overnight Tornadoes
The Salvation Army of Bloomington is actively monitoring the impact of last night’s tornadoes and is in communication with key community stakeholders as damage assessments continue across the region.
At this time, The Salvation Army is working to determine the level of response necessary as more information becomes available. A mobile feeding kitchen has been placed on standby, and trained disaster volunteers are prepared to respond should they be needed in the coming hours or days.
"The Salvation Army of Bloomington is here before, during, and after the storm," said Captain Vinal Lee, corps officer for The Salvation Army of Bloomington. "We remain committed to walking alongside our neighbors throughout the entire recovery process — not just in the immediate aftermath, but in the long journey of helping our community rebuild."
As assessments continue, The Salvation Army will coordinate with local emergency management, first responders, and partner agencies to ensure that services are provided where they are most needed. Updates will be shared as response efforts are activated.
The Salvation Army encourages residents to prioritize safety and to follow guidance from local authorities. Those wishing to support disaster relief efforts are asked to monitor official Salvation Army communications for future needs.
