Share Story

The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command has opened applications for its Christmas Food Box and Angel Tree Program, providing holiday assistance to families in need. Residents of Adams, Pike, and Brown Counties in Illinois with children aged 18 and under or seniors aged 60 and older are invited to register for these programs.

Registration is available online at www.SAAngelTree.org. The application is fully online, but for individuals who need in person assistance, can come to the Kroc Center on Monday, Nov. 3, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 9-10 a.m.; or Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10-11 a.m. Individuals seeking only a Christmas Food Box may also register online or in person at The Kroc Center.

Through the Angel Tree Program, parents or guardians can register to receive gifts based on their child’s needs and wishes. Registered children and seniors may receive items such as clothing, toys, and other requested gifts. Each participant in the Angel Tree Program will also receive a Christmas food box.

Upon registration, digital and physical Angel Tree tags will be created for shoppers to adopt beginning in early November. All gifts purchased for the program must be delivered to The Kroc Center by Dec. 10 to ensure they are ready for distribution.

Applicants must bring photo identification, proof of meeting Health and Human Services poverty guidelines, birth certificates or official documents listing family members, and address verification dated within 30 days.
