Holiday times are tough when you can't afford a meal or gifts. The Salvation Army helps families make the holidays bright no matter what.

The Salvation Army brightens the holiday season for those in need through:
Red Kettles
Our iconic red kettles signal the start of the holiday season. Donations collected in the kettles stay local and support the services needed in Mattoon. Bell ringers are both seasonal employees and volunteers. Learn more about Bell Ringing and sign up to volunteer at SalvationArmyVolunteer.org. And, from Oct. 1 – Jan. 31 each year, you can join the fight for good by donating through our Virtual Red Kettle.
Holiday Meals
The Salvation Army provides Christmas meals for families unable to create a special meal themselves. We host homemade dinners at our facility and provide a Christmas dinner box to struggling families. Each box feeds a family of six and includes meat, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, biscuits, cake mix and more.
One Stop Community Christmas
We collaborate with One Stop Community Christmas to support Christmas efforts in Mattoon. To receive or donate holiday gifts, please connect with One Stop through their website or Facebook page.
