Red Kettle Special Coin Auction

The ringing of the bells is once again silent, but there are still plenty of ways to donate in support of year-round programs and services provided by The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls. The annual Red Kettle Special Coin Auction is now live, and bids will be accepted through 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7. 

Items Available for Public Bid: 

• (9) 1 oz. US American Gold Eagle Coin (minimum bid: $2,600.00 per coin) 
• Operation Overlord – DDay 80th Anniversary Coin (minimum bid: $14.00) 
• 1979 Wide Rim Susan B Anthony Dollar Coin (minimum bid: $9.00) 
• Mt. Rushmore National Memorial 60th Anniversary Double Eagle Commemorative (minimum bid: $7.00) 
• 1 Troy oz Silver Buffalo Coin (minimum bid: $50.00) 
• 1999 Gold Plated New Jersey Quarter (minimum bid: $5.00) 
• 1992 Liberty Dollar Coin (minimum bid: $32.00) 

All items are available for public bid now through 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2024. Persons may bid on multiple items. Final bids will be reviewed, and winners will be notified by 3pm, Wednesday, January 8. Bids may be placed by:  

• Email (preferred): Send your name, contact number, item, and bid amount to ellie.rogaczewski@usc.salvationarmy.org  
• Phone: Call The Salvation Army at (319) 235-9358, extension 102. Provide your name, contact number, item, and bid amount. 
• In Person: Visit The Salvation Army at 89 Franklin Street in Waterloo, Monday-Thursday (9:00 am-noon, 1:00 pm-3:00 pm) and Friday (9:00 am-noon). Provide your name, contact phone number, item, and bid amount. 

Payment must be made in full by cash or cashier’s check (preferred) by 12:00 pm (noon) on Tuesday, January 14, 2024. If payment is not received by this time, those with the second-highest bid(s) will be notified.
