How We Help Cure Hunger
Emergency Food Pantry | Monday through Friday. Call for appointment.
In Jasper County, 13.2% of families and 21% of children are food insecure, meaning that they might not know where or how they will get their next meal. Our food pantry helps bridge the gap by offering nutritional staples including fresh, packaged meat, canned fruits and vegetables and other non-perishable foods to those struggling to find the means to provide adequate food for themselves and their families. Our pantry also delivers bread, sweets and fresh produce (when it’s available) to other communities throughout Jasper County.
Food insecurity is a major issue -- both in Newton and around Jasper County. Demand is very high at our food pantry. If you’d like to support our food pantry via in-kind or monetary donations, here’s how to do that:
- Our pantry is in need of the following food items:
- Cereal
- Bread
- Canned soup
- Canned pasta sauce
- Mac ‘n cheese
- Pasta noodles
- Box dinners
- Peanut butter
Monetary donations for the food pantry can be made here: https://donate.salarmywestern.org/give/205730/#!/donation/checkout
