Food insecurity is a major issue in the Des Moines area. That’s why we offer a free cupboard where people in need can stop by and pick up nonperishables and other food items.
The cupboard is located here at Des Moines Citadel Corps (1216 E. 25th Ct.) and is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Also at that same location, we offer free lunches Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – dine-in only.

Donating cash or nonperishable food items to a food pantry is vital in ensuring that individuals and families facing hunger have access to the resources they need to thrive, especially during times of crisis.
