How We Help Empower Youth
Kids Club
- Kids Club program schedule: Wednesdays (during the school year) from 5-7:30 p.m.
- Kids Club population served: Every Wednesday evening during the school year, youth ages pre-K through 12th grade enjoy supper together and then participate in gym time, Bible study and character-building classes.
- Kids Club program strengths: This program offers youth the opportunity to develop strong communication and leadership skills, grow their minds and explore God’s Word, all while having fun and connecting with their peers.
Back-to-School Backpack and School Supplies Distribution
- Back-to-School Backpack and School Supplies Distribution program strengths: We partner with the other agencies on the Charles Lakin campus to offer a Back-to-School Backpack and School Supplies Distribution every August to ensure that area kids begin the new school year with everything they need to succeed.
Trunk or Treat
- Trunk or Treat program strengths: Trunk or Treat takes place in October, where kids and families enjoy Halloween fun in a safe, family-friendly environment.
Summer Camps
- Summer Camps population served: Children and teens in first through 12th grade enroll in various summer camps at our divisional camp — Western Plains Camp — in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
- Summer Camps program strengths: These camps offer themed weeks, including Music Camp, Teen Camp and Outdoor Camp, where kids experience nature, connect with others, and learn social, leadership and character-building skills. For many campers, this is their first opportunity to explore nature in depth and engage in activities like fishing, hiking and swimming.
