How We Help Meet Human Need
Personal Care Pantry
Many of us don’t think twice about the personal hygiene products we have access to and use every day, but for individuals and families struggling to make ends meet, necessary items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant and laundry detergent are often considered luxuries. We offer the only personal care pantry in the greater Council Bluffs area, providing hygiene items, as well as paper products, cleaning supplies, vitamins, over-the-counter medications like Tylenol and allergy medicine and diapers and baby wipes, none of which are eligible for coverage by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (better known as SNAP, and formerly known as food stamps).
Multi-Agency Drive-Thru Food Pantry
Last Tuesday of every month
10:30-11:30 a.m.
We offer free staples included canned foods, breads and non-perishables in a convenient drive-thru format to help individuals and families make ends meet when their grocery budget is stretched.
Food and Material Assistance
More than 1,600 people in Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County are helped by The Salvation Army's food and material assistance programs each year.
