How We Help Overcome Poverty
Pathway of Hope
Pathway of Hope works with people where they are, offering practical guidance to help families overcome obstacles and achieve their big-picture goals, one step at a time. We offer strengths-based casework to families with children 18 years of age and younger, providing services such as financial counseling and planning, goal setting with manageable action steps, job training, referrals and employment assistance, assistance with securing housing and child care and emotional and spiritual support.
Back-to-School Supplies and Christmas Assistance
We collaborate with our three partners on the Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus and nearly two dozen additional community agencies to present an annual Back-to-School Distribution in August, providing backpacks and the supplies to help kids start the school year prepared to learn. During the holiday season, we provide toys and gifts to families in need through the Adopt-A-Family and Angel Tree programs.
Stats
Pathway of Hope
Research shows that a child born into poverty is 32 times more likely to remain in poverty than one born into better circumstances. But this path doesn't have to be inevitable. Pathway of Hope's casework approach ensures that families receive guidance, action steps and resources specifically focused on their particular challenges and goals.
