Volunteer

The Salvation Army has changed lives and given hope to countless people throughout the nation. But it never does it alone.

We Need Volunteers...Can You Help?

Volunteers are a crucial part of The Salvation Army of Cedar Rapid's community service programs.

Volunteers tutor, teach, mentor, supervise children at play, coach, provide companionship for seniors, help with holiday baskets, serve on advisory boards, roll up their sleeves in times of disasters, clean, ring the bells during the Red Kettle effort, and much more.

If you have a special skill or passion—whether it is a knack for playing the piano or an affinity for data entry—that you would like to share, or if you simply want to help others but aren’t sure how, we may have a job that is right for you.

The first step is to fill out a volunteer application if you do not currently have one.  Upon completion of your profile you'll receive an email.

Bell Ringing at Red Kettles
Red kettle donations help ensure that The Salvation Army can provide services, including food, housing, material assistance, youth programs and more throughout the whole year.  We have multiple Red Kettle locations throughout the metro -- including some indoor spots. Bell ringing is a fun, festive activity to do as a group with family, friends or coworkers.
