SALVATION ARMY PETOSKEY LAUNCHES SHOWER MINISTRY TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY IN NEED
The Salvation Army of Petoskey is launching a new Shower Ministry on Wednesday, September 3, at its Community Center located at 2350 Mitchell Park Drive. The service will be available on a walk-in basis every Wednesday and Friday from 10 AM to 12 PM.
This ministry provides access to hot showers for individuals experiencing homelessness, plumbing issues, or power outages—helping them prepare for healthcare appointments, job interviews, and maintain basic hygiene. In the event of an emergency, such as the recent ice storm, the Community Center will also serve as a fully operational shelter offering hot food and showers.
“Petoskey’s homeless population is growing, and cold weather is just around the corner,” said Envoy Roman Hank. “Hot showers can help people stay healthier and feel more confident—especially when preparing for job interviews. Everyone deserves the dignity of being clean and healthy.”
