About the event
Join The Salvation Army and The Kroc Center Hampton Roads for our annual back-to-school giveaway, created to help local students begin the new school year prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.
Free school supplies will be available for eligible students entering grades K–12. Families may attend during either event time, and supplies will be distributed while quantities last.

Friday, August 14 | 4–7 PM
Saturday, August 15 | 9 AM–12 PM
Eligibility Requirements
To receive school supplies:
- Students must be entering grades K–12. Pre-K students are not eligible.
- The parent or guardian must provide an unexpired government-issued photo ID.
- Proof of residency is required.
- The child’s birth certificate is required.
- Families must reside in Chesapeake, Norfolk, or Virginia Beach.
This event is available while supplies last. Please bring all required documents to help ensure a smooth check-in process.
