General Maintenance Supervisor

As part of the Building Services Team, under the direction of the Property Manager, is responsible for overseeing and/or performing the maintenance, repair and improvements of all National Headquarters properties with primary responsibilities associated with Officers' quarters, consisting of eight single-family residential properties. Working with the Building Engineer, this role ensures that all systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, are functioning efficiently and effectively. Must be alert, observant and responsive to identify and resolve problems in order to maintain the office complex and residential properties in optimal working condition. Provides backup support for Mailroom operations. Provides official transportation in the DC area.

Social Media Coordinator

Supports the External Communications Manager and Director of Communications as primary community manager and content creator for the various social and digital communications channels of The Salvation Army National Headquarters, Publications, and World Service Office. Educational Technology for International Development Intern

The Educational Technology for International Development Intern will report to SAWSO’s Technical Advisor for Education and support efforts to strengthen digital tools used in Salvation Army schools and after-school programs. The intern will analyze existing school evaluation and assessment documents from three Salvation Army territories/divisions—Haiti, Uganda, and Indonesia—and help identify the most relevant types of data to be collected within each context through document review and discussions with SAWSO’s Senior Advisor for Education. They will review KoboToolbox data collection capabilities and templates to determine applicable features, recommend design approaches and screen examples for a school management data collection app, and evaluate KoboToolbox dashboard reporting features to suggest ways they can be customized to meet program needs. The intern will also review existing KoboToolbox user guidance and adapt it for Salvation Army school staff, and assist in identifying potential KoboToolbox application developers. In addition, the intern will support work related to the Bloom Library platform by reviewing its software features and recommending ways the application can be customized for Salvation Army after-school programs, as well as reviewing and adapting existing Bloom Library user guidance for Salvation Army staff.

Emergency Disaster Services Intern
